First Pictures of Zippy!

These pictures of Zippy are several weeks old! These were taken at the 20 week ultrasound. Cute huh?? I am now 33 weeks - tomorrow! So, 7 weeks left! YEAH!! I had a Doctor's appointment today and my first stress test. I am going to have to have weekly stress tests now - due to the Gestational Diabetes. I have never (obviously) had one of these tests before and didn't know what to expect so I came prepared with a book, a magazine, and my i-pod to pass the time. Well, if you ever need to have a stress test you can't read anything...your main goal is to focus on the baby. They hooked me up to a monitor and that was able to read the baby's heartbeat and if the baby moved I had to press a button - so all of the movement would be recorded...basically the goal is for the heartrate to increase with any movement. Now - the problem is..my baby still has some wiggle room in my stomach and to get the exact location of the back to get the heartbeat was a bit tricky...we kept getting mine and the baby's confused. If that wasn't bad enough, the baby was sleeping and hardly moving! So, I just had to literally sit and wait until this kid would move. And..of course he or she did not! The nurse kept trying different things...bring my legs up to my stomach, drink a glass of ice water...nothing was working. She finally left the room and I closed my eyes and I swear to you - I just kept thinking...MOVE KID...MOVE and guess what ....the baby starting moving around. So..we got an accurate reading and everything was a-okay! I go back next Friday for round two!
