What is your definition of LUCK?
Jose and I were talking about this over a glass of wine on Friday night. It is interesting what each of us thinks LUCK is. In the book that I am reading, The Last Lecture, LUCK is talked about and prompted our conversation...so I ask you ...
please respond to me under comments as to what your definition of LUCK is!
Happy Sunday!

Luck is when something good happens and you did NOTHING to earn it, or deserve it.

Ohhh, that one got me thinking. I totally have a different definition today from the way I thought it was when I was younger. Back then it was a special treat of something unexpected, and when I was working/college, etc., I thought "Luck" was what you would get when hard work and opportunity came together.
Today I think being "lucky" is a frame of mind/thoughts. Kind of like buying into the whole "The Secret" analogy of your thoughts and your visions. I believe you're "lucky" if you learn to cherish life, not take things/happenings for granted, living in the now, being grateful, and learning/growing with each day.
I totally love what Randy Pausch says in his interview (& book)... "we cannot change the cards we are dealt, just the way we play the hand." I have another longer quote from Charles Swindoll that is similar. And, this, I believe, goes with everyone, no matter the status of your health, wealth, past problems, current problems, etc....it's how we handle those ups/downs and even the really good things in life. Because, I believe, if you can do that with grace, dignity, and love...you are VERY "lucky!"
Laura is a much deeper thinker than I !! :)
Well you didn't say to define good or bad luck. Here is one of the definitions that I found on dictionary.com for the word luck; "the force that seems to operate for good or ill in a person's life, as in shaping circumstances, events, or opportunities".
Luck is the event that happens at the intersection of preparation and hard work.
Wow what a deep question!!!
I think luck is like Karma. I've been reading THE SECRET ( love it )
thinking positive thoughts bring positive reactions - Luck!!!
